I don’t have much to really say about this video, other than the fact that it really did a number on my computer. However, that’s mainly my fault - I shouldn’t have made it all on one Adobe After Effects file, it ended up being around 120 MB. That’s big, like, REALLY big, at least by random 20-minute anituber standards.
The idea of a media mix has been a really valuable thing I’ve taken for granted. I’m a huge sucker for narratives about narratives, and so a lot of the shows I love have largely been a result of me finding something interesting about it that makes me really appreciate it. I hardly find shows - on their own grounds as shows - really click with me. Media mixes, in this sense, are quite valuable.
However, just because I know about it doesn’t necessarily mean everyone else does, and I think at least keeping in mind what these are can be especially valuable things to remember. I know Callum (Canipa) has talked about media mixes, so I guess this can be seen as a complementary piece to some of the comments he’s made.
It’s also more of an exploration made possible thanks to Marc’s kindness. I’ve been wanting to work with him for a long while, and while COVID-19 has really messed up the workflow of some things, I’m just glad we were able to get this figured out. The video is a complement to another work with regards to platforms. Given how much of a syosetu hound I am, it’s not surprise that Marc’s research is quite valuable to me.
